244 delegates from 17 countries attended the AUTOMINING 2010 Congress on Automation in the Mining Industry that was held on 10-12 November 2010 in the Sheraton Hotel & Convention Center in Santiago, Chile. During three exciting days professionals in the field from all over the world had the opportunity to present new research findings, new applications, case studies and to discuss about the present and future development of automation in the sector, as well as to exchange experiences on successful applications and share innovative projects and case studies.
Among the participating countries were Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Mexico, Peru, Republic of Zambia, South Africa, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and the United States. There were 181delegates from the industry and 40 from the academia, including post-graduate students and graduate students from national and international universities. Other delegates were professionals from various sectors of the economic activity.
